Are You Speaking Spanish?

Kambri and Cohen came to visit me at my office this past week. Kambri was playing with a magnidoodle that we have there for children. She refused to share with Cohen, so finally I let Kambri lay on the traction table and she said, "Cohen I guess you can use my magnidoodle now that I'm doing this". I said, "wow Kambri how generous of you!". She looked up at me and said, "generous? are you speaking spanish to me Mom?".

I Don't Eat The Crust

Kambri refuses to eat crust...not just crust on bread but the crust on everything! We were traveling to Las Vegas last week and she was eating a croissant and hands me the outer edge and says, "I'm all done...I don't eat the crust" Then this Saturday morning I made cinnamon rolls for breakfast, Kambri licked all the frosting off and said, "I'm all done....I don't eat the crust". Where is the crust on a croissant or a cinnamon roll?

Little Miss Kambri Sat on Her Tuffet?

The other day I came downstairs to see Kambri surrounded by our couch throw pillows. She looked at me and dramatically said, "fine then, I'll just sleep here on my tuffet".

Bath-a-tized

We asked Kambri what she learned in nursery yesterday she said, "we learned about getting bath-a-tized". When asked what that was she said, "it's when you get your head pushed under water...I don't want to get bath-a-tized".

Rain

The other morning I was not in the best mood and it was really a gloomy and rainy day. We stepped out side to walk the kids to the Neff's (the neighbor who watches them while I'm at work), Kambri said, "thank you rain for coming here, you help our flowers to grow and we need more flowers around here". It made my day a bit better.

Stuff

Yesterday Brian's dad asked Kambri what she wanted for Christmas. Her answer..."stuff that does stuff".

Who doesn't love Jack Kellie from Newsies?

I was watching Newsies with Kambri this morning as I was doing laundry and Christian Bale comes on the screen. Kambri looks at me and says, "mom, he is so cute! I want him!" I have to admit... I had a crush on him too when I was younger...ok ok I still do!

A strange place for a nose

This morning Kambri was laying next to me in bed and she turned to me and said, "Mom, what if a person grew their nose between their boobs?"

Kambri's getting married

Last week Kambri came up to me and said, "Clayton asked me to marry him...I said yes...the wedding will be in three weeks." She then continued to tell me how she wanted a big ring and a beautiful wedding outside. I asked why the had decided to get married. She said, "because we love each other and that's what you do. And after we are married I will move in to the Tucker house to live with him and his family." Sounds like she has things all planned out.

The bug with the red crayon

This past week I have found red crayon on everything from Kambri's clothing to the top of our garbage can. Every time I ask her where it came from she tells a different story on how there is a little bug that likes writing on things in red crayon and if flies away when ever I walk into the room.

Lemon Drops

Yesterday afternoon Kambri came up to me, she said that she saw that I had four lemon drops (the lemon shaped sugar coated hard candies) on my night stand and wondered if she could have some. I said it would be alright if she had one but no more until after dinner. Later in the evening I went to grab my book off my night stand and there sat three gooey lemon drops with the sugar coating sucked off....at least she did listen and only took one.

Kambri and her preschool class

I do a preschool co-op with Kambri and several of my friend's children (seven kids in total) and it was my turn to teach these past few weeks. Yesterday I was reading a book to the kids about a boy who was going to squish a little bug, the bug explains to the boy how he is a good bug, and by the end of the bugs plea you feel sorry for him ( I felt that way anyway). The book ends with the boys foot just above the bug and the question of should the boy squish the bug or should he leave it alone...once I asked the question Kambri along with the rest of the kids started shouting, "SQUISH IT, SQUISH IT, SQUISH IT!!!"

August 27

Yesterday I was outside with Kambri. She was being sassy to me and shouted, "everyone is being rude to me!" I asked who had been rude to her. She answered "you and.....this tree!"
I then said to her, "well you better call it quits and go take a nap". She then turned around and looked at the tree and said "you are quits!!! go take a nap!"

July 13

Today we had a bbq at our friends the Hollands. They have three little boys, Ryder 3, Luke 2 and Bently 1. Kambri came up to me and said, "Mom, Ryder asked me to be his girl....so I am". Later to night as I was getting Kambri ready for bed she said...."it's nice having a boyfriend".

7-9-10

I gave Kambri some juice and said, "now don't spill it" she came back over to me a few minutes later and said, "mom I spilled my juice....all over in my mouth".

A few catch up stories

Here are some funny stories that have happened in the past month or so.

Kambri has a huge imagination and is always insisting on being called by the name of who ever she is pretending to be at the time. She went through (and sometimes is going through) a mom stage, where she insists she is a mom and you have to call her mom. I signed her up for a music and movement class at the library earlier this year and the teacher had us all sit in a circle and introduce ourselves. When it came to Kambri they asked her name, she replied "mom" they said not your moms name (she knows my name and would introduce me as Kiera) what is your name? She replied, "my name is mom"

One day we were leaving the house and I said Kambri, get your jacket it's time to go, she looked at me very seriously, held up one finger and said, "Kiera...You call me mom" It's probably some thing she got from me when she used to call me Kiera all the time.

Her new name is Annie, she is always calling our dog Harry Sandy and Brian Daddy Worbucks...so who does that leave me? the evil Miss Hannigan, I prefer playing the prince.

Those of you who have spent much time with Kambri understand the phrase "we only say oh my goodness"

Kambri was shuffling through my night stand and found some lanolin. She come's up and says "mom, what's this?" I tell her it's nipple cream...sometimes when you nurse your baby your nipples hurt and you need that for them. She then looks at me and says "excuse me while I go nurse my baby." She leaves for about ten minutes and comes back with the lanolin and says "I nursed my baby and my nipples are sore...I need this"

The other day we were at my dads house and Kambri says "I like the word hooters...it's fun" I kind of gasped at the new word, she the quickly said "it's a fun but naughty word huh mom?"

Blog Introduction

My oldest child is Kambri ....she has an amazing vocabulary for a three year old. I'm always telling people about the crazy things she says and does and I thought "why don't I write these things down to share with her later" and so I started this blog. Most if it will be about Kambri now but I'm sure my nine month old Cohen will soon follow in his crazy sisters foot steps.
